HSMWorks ApS announces release of HSMWorks 2008

New Toolpath Kernel and SolidWorks 2008 support drive the Latest Release of HSMWorks� Integrated CAM Solution Powered by SolidWorks.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - November 2, 2007 - HSMWorks ApS today unveiled HSMWorks 2008, the newest version of the HSMWorks advanced integrated CAM solution powered by SolidWorks technology.

HSMWorks 2008 is the first release to be distributed worldwide through a network of leading CAD/CAM Resellers specializing in integrated solutions for SolidWorks. HSMWorks 2008 is available as a stand-alone CAM solution, or as an Add-in for SolidWorks.

New 3D Machining Kernel

One of the most innovative enhancements in HSMWorks 2008 is the new HSMWorks Kernel. The new HSMWorks Kernel is the toolpath kernel from HSMWorks ApS that has been designed from the ground up to fully utilize the latest technologies including 64-bit processor support and multi-processor/multi-core hardware platforms that are becoming increasingly the standard of choice of the most demanding designers, manufacturing engineers, and CNC programmers.

In addition to the true multi-threaded architecture, that allows HSMWorks to calculate both a single toolpath and multiple independent toolpaths concurrently on multiple processors/cores resulting in a significant reduction in calculation time, the new HSMWorks Kernel also introduces new advanced toolpath and linking options that improves the surface quality, reduces the tool wear, and extends the machine tool life.
